What is the show about?

Set in a fictional American West in 1879, the series follows a group of adventurers as they seek out a cult bent on destroying the very fabric of humanity.

Magic has been reignited in the world but wielding it comes at a steep cost. An Elder God named Yhargoth has seeded this magic but has infused it with his own corrupting influence. Weak-willed wizards follow his every whim - spreading chaos and fear throughout the country.

It's up to our posse to root out this corruption, spread a message of hope, and defeat Yhargoth before the entire world is an empty husk.

What system are you using?

We're using the Year Zero Engine from Free League Publishing. Hellbent is a homebrewed world.

The world will also be influenced by you, our audience, so some lore is yet to be discovered!

How can we affect the game?

Sustaining backers here will have the ability to add Banes and Boons - items, events, NPCs, and other mechanical effects which can potentially help or harm the posse.

Backers will also gain additional ways to interact, including outfitting the characters' headquarters and supplying the various factions in the world with resources. Which will all have an affect on the story!

Additionally, at higher levels, backers can play in a game which can affect the background story in significant ways!

And, as always, tips will unlock story rewards throughout the game!

So if we can affect the game, does that mean the show will constantly be interrupted with you thanking new followers, begging for tips, etc?

Great question! We think we have a plan that will please and engage you regardless of how you watch or listen!

TWITCH

The “long” show will have prescribed breaks in which the cast will vocally thank those watching, and address any stream events. These callouts will ONLY happen during the breaks, meaning the gameplay will be uninterrupted!

YOUTUBE

The liveshow will be cut up into lunch-break sized chunks so you can easily feast on it while you eat your PB&J!

Gone will be elements of the live show that make it tedious on other platforms. We’ll edit things out that didn’t make sense or veered away from the story.

As a sustaining member you’ll always be able to go back and watch the whole thing as VODs will be available for members always!

All of the stream elements that normally populate the screen during a live show will be removed. No stream-specific graphic pop-ups, no shout-outs, etc. Just straight ol’ gameplay!

PODCAST

The audio will be remastered, mixed, and put in a high-quality podcast format. Short episodes like on YouTube so they more easily fit in your busy schedule. Visual explanations provided when necessary and even some music and effects to really get you in the zone!
